Romanian President To Attend European Council Meeting Friday

The current situation in Egypt and Tunisia, the European Union's financial and economic situation, as well as aspects concerning common energy polities, will be among the issues debated during the European Council meeting.

According to the source, debates will also concern a set of measures targeting the European Research Area and simplifying innovative companies' access to finance.

Basescu will meet with European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso and Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom.
