Romanian President To Meet With German Chancellor Angela Merkel Thursday - MP

Romanian President Traian Basescu will meet with Germany’s President Christian Wulff and Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday, Ovidiu Gant, deputy of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania, said in a press release Wednesday.

Basescu will be accompanied on the official visit to Berlin by Grant, Minister of European Affairs Leonard Orban and Foreign Affairs Ministry state secretary Bogdan Aurescu.

According to the source, the representatives of the two states will hold a conference on economic and political matters Thursday afternoon.

On October 6, German Foreign Affairs Minister Guido Westerwelle announced the Romanian head of state will visit Berlin on November 10.
