Romanian President Woos German Investors With “Large Privatization” Outlook
Romanian President Traian Basescu on Thursday said, after meeting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, that Romania will start a large privatization process, involving thermal power producers Turceni, Rovinari and Craiova, as well as railroad freight transporter CFR Marfa.

Asked about the areas where Romania would like to draw German investment, Basescu said it's no secret Romania will enter a large privatization process.
"Surely we are greatly interested in the involvement of German investors in the privatization, given the German experience and technology for the use of coal on the energy segment, as well as the quality of the German railroad," Basescu said.
