The measure will take effect starting February 13, as Morar's current term expires on February 12.
In November, 2011, President Traian Basescu said he would ask Kovesi to extend Morar's term as DNA chief prosecutor by six months, until the European Commission issued its summer report on the country's progress in the justice sector.
