Romania’s team won one silver and three bronze medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Japan, which welcomed 267 contestants from 68 countries, the Romanian Education Ministry announced Tuesday.

Romanian Pupils Won One Silver, Three Bronze Medals At International Chemistry Olympiad

Constantin Giurgiu, of the "Nicolae Balcescu" High School in Cluj-Napoca, won the silver medal, matching his performance at last year's Olympiad, says an Education Ministry press release.

The three bronze medals were won by Tudor Balan, of the "Costache Negruzzi" National College in Iasi, Ioana Moga, of the "Emanuil Gojdu" National College in Oradea, and Alexandru Sava, of the "Vlaicu Voda" National College in Curtea de Arges.

The 42nd edition of the International Chemistry Olympiad was held between July 17-27 in Tokyo, Japan.
