The committee resumed debates on the draft act after democrat liberal senator Radu F. Alexandru proposed several amendments, which have been adopted.
According to the bill, websites delivering adult content must receive authorization from the Communications Ministry and access to porn sites must be password-protected. Users will pay a fee for accessing adult content sites.
The fee level and authorization criteria will be set by the ministry.
According to the bill, any individual or legal entity owning a domain name and intending to use it for pornographic material must notify the Communications Ministry within ten days and observe several conditions: porn sites must contain warnings as to their content on each access page, display the number of users and check user's age before allowing access.
The bill, which was put forward by the Government, allows the Communications Ministry to block access to websites delivering adult content if these conditions are breached.
The act will be sent back to the Senate for debates.
