Romanian Senate Committee Rejects Draft Law On Fortune-Telling, Witchcraft

The draft act reads that people who gain money from fortune-telling and other witchcraft activities must have authorization and pay VAT.

Committee president Toni Grebla deemed the draft law "slightly negligent" in wording and called on senators to reject it.

Romania's Government representative at the meeting of the committee for legal matters said the Executive does not support the adoption of the draft act, adding the law initiative is not aimed at protecting people who resort to fortune-tellers, but wants to license this kind of activity.
