Romanian Senate Rejects Introduction Of Mandatory School Uniform

Romanian senators Wednesday voted 91 to six and four abstentions to reject a bill that required all students from the first to the eighth grade to wear school uniforms.

The bill, initiated by a lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Liberal Party, was thumbed down both by the government and Parliament committees that debated it.

The bill will be sent to the Chamber of Deputies for debates. The lower house has the final say.
