Romanian Transport Minister: About 130 Km Of Highway To Be Finished This Year
Romania’s Transport Minister Anca Boagiu said Friday about 130 kilometers of highway will be finished in 2011, to include highway sectors Timisoara-Arad, Medgidia-Constanta and Bucharest-Ploiesti, as well as the beltways of cities Arad (W) and Constanta (SE).

According to Boagiu, national roads authority CNADNR will also finish upgrade works on 515 kilometers on national road.
The Government allotted to the roads authority 506.4 million lei (about EUR119.3 million) from the state budget and RON280.5 million from privatization funds, added the minister.
In May, Boagiu said works on 276 kilometer of highway were underway, while 313 km of motorway were already finished. She added Romania would have 845 km of highway in a few years following investments worth EUR5.17 billion.
