The woman, who gave birth to a healthy boy on February 12, had been kept in hospital for three weeks.
Brasov county hospital medical director Adrian Albota said Friday the patient did not respond to treatment and died Thursday evening. She had severe lung lesions, which spread, and pregnancy caused her health state to worsen, said Albota.
The woman was diagnosed with AH1N1 flu on February 4. She was 34 weeks into her pregnancy and had to undergo caesarian. After delivering the baby, the patient got worse and was admitted to the intensive care ward, where she received treatment for three weeks.
