Romanians Highly Dissatisfied With Public Healthcare Services - Poll
Romanians are highly discontented with the Romanian healthcare system and the way it is managed, according to a research conducted by IRIS Network in 28 countries.

Only 6% of Romanians said they are satisfies with the local public healthcare services.
In Indonesia, about 81% of respondents said they are pleased with the public healthcare system, the highest rate registered among the 28 countries included in the survey. Indonesia is followed by Turkey, Malaysia, India and Thailand, where 60% of respondents said they are pleased with the healthcare services they are offered.
In Romania, about 58% of respondents said the source of all problems in the healthcare system is an inefficient system management, while 42% believe that insufficient financing is to be blamed, reads the research.
The survey reveals that only 7% of Egyptians are satisfied with the healthcare services provided by their country. The African country is followed by Colombia (8%) and Ukraine (9%)
Over 80% of respondents in the United States, Ireland, Colombia, Germany, Pakistan and Indonesia said they are in a good health state.
According to the research, 72% of respondents in Romania, Germany, France, Slovenia and the Netherlands said their health condition is good.
About 76% of Romanians said their diet influences their health condition and 65% said sports play a key part.
Only 44% of respondents in Romania said their health condition may be affected by the quantity of alcohol they drink and 46% believes smoking affects their health.
The survey also shows that 82% of Romanians believe the healthcare system should be financed with public money.
The Iris Global Health survey polled 22,493 people aged between 20 and 60 in 28 countries. Data were collected between August-October 2011.
The countries included in the survey are: Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the United States, Canada, Chile, Colombia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Egypt and Australia.
