Suppliers May Ease Costs Faced By Romanian Power Grid Operator Under Cold Weather
Increased energy consumption in this interval, caused by low temperatures, will generate an increase in costs, which will paid by consumers and possibly suppliers, Friday said Marian Cernat, director within Romania's power grid operator Transelectrica (TEL.RO).

"Energy consumption rose because of the cold, all plants are running and the costs will be covered by consumers, but only after the regulators approve it. Some of the energy bill might be covered by suppliers," Cernat told a news conference.
He said the energy transport system might be affected by frost especially in the southeastern region of the country.
