UNICEF To Help Romania Fight Against Measles Epidemic

UNICEF will support the Romanian authorities in their fight against measles through awareness and information campaigns, according to the new UNICEF representative in Romania, Pieter Bult, who has met on Tuesday with Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose.

Bult presented to the prime minister his term's goals and priorities and promised to cooperate with the Romanian government in order to help children in need, ensure children's access to education, health and social assistance as well as to prevent all kinds of violence.

The focal point of the meeting was that Tudose and Bult discussed the measles epidemic in Romania and decided to cooperare on the matter. Bult has said that UNICEF supports the efforts of the Romanian authorities and vowed to help with awareness campaigns and educational programs on public health.

Bult and Tudose agreed to meet each other on a monthly basis in order to identify the problems that Romanian children face and figure out solutions for them.
