Western, Northern, Central Romania Under Yellow Code Alert For Snowfall

Romanian meteorologists issued a new yellow code advisory expecting heavy snowfall and blizzards in the western, northern and central regions of the country until Thursday evening.

The advisory takes effect Wednesday afternoon. Authorities expect 10-15 centimeters of snow, and as much as 25 centimeters in mountain areas, and winds of over 50 - 60 kilometers an hour.

Authorities on Tuesday morning lifted the orange code alert for heavy snowfall valid for the southern parts of the country. However, the weather is expected to remain very cold throughout the country.
