Cioroianu announced a letter was also sent to Italy’s foreign minister Massimo D’Alema.
The minister added the decision to send these letters was made following discussions with Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu and President Traian Basescu.
Italian president Giorgio Napolitano promulgated Thursday evening the decree allowing the deportation of European citizens that are considered a threat to public safety. The normative act allows Italian prefects to banish an EU citizen who is considered dangerous to public order.
