By the October 25 deadline, six international companies have made binding bids to participate in the construction of the two nuclear reactors.

Nuclearelectrica said that these companies are Italy’s Enel, Belgium’s Electrabel, Spain’s Iberdola, Czech Cez, Arcelor Mittal Romania and Germany’s RWE.

The power plant in Cernavoda has two reactors, which provide a total supply of around 18% of the national electricity demand. One of them was recently slated into service.
