“Following the indifference shown by The Ministry of Education, Research and Youth to the fact that the National Education Federation triggered a labor conflict, our organization decided to send a request for arbitrage to the Labor Ministry," the unions said in a statement.

The federation said any attempt by the Labor Ministry to deprive the federation of its legal rights to protest will be considered “a comeback of an abusive and illegal attitude," adding such a case would be taken up with the European Commission and the International Labor Organization.

Starting Monday, education unions start protests throughout the country with warning strikes.

Unionists are disturbed by the fact that the Education Ministry has kept postponing the registration of the collective labor contract, and lack of observance of the agreement to draft a law eliminating large salary gaps between employees in different public sectors.
