"I read with great surprise the statements made by the Chamber Speaker, Bogdan Olteanu, regarding the US Ambassador in Romania, Nicholas Taubman. From Nicolae Ceausescu to Bogdan Olteanu, we have never seen a high level Romanian official attacking the USA in such a manner," said the press release issued by PLD leader.

Stolojan says that the "goof trio within the National Liberal Party, Tariceanu – Olteanu – Cioroianu, continues its work to ruin Romania’s international credibility, without mistakes and without remorse."

Olteanu told MEDIAFAX that the US Ambassador in Romania, Nicholas Taubman, obtained his mandate in a manner that would be dubbed “corruption” in Romania, adding that „in Romania, legislation is made by Romanians.”
