More Counties In Romania Faced With Power Outages Over Strong Wind

Romania’s Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform said that the electric networks in 45 locations from five Romanian counties were seriously damaged Sunday morning by powerful windstorms.

The ministry said that 17 locations in southeastern county of Dolj, one location in southwestern county of Caras – Severin, three locations in Ilfov, one location in southern county of Olt and 23 locations in southern county of Teleorman are faced with power outages.
The ministry is ready to deal with any such problems, if necessary, as it constantly monitors the evolution of weather countrywide.
Moreover, the representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations are ready to take action, if necessary, mainly in counties of Caras-Severin, Dolj, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinti, Olt, Timis and Valcea, after the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Administration sent out a yellow code warning for low temperatures and windstorms for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
All seaports in Romania’s southeastern county of Constanta were closed on Sunday due to very strong wind, while traffic on the Danube-Black Sea Canal was restricted.
The head of the Constanta Regional Port Captain Office, Alexandru Mezei, said maneuvers in seaports Midia, Mangalia, Constanta Sud and Constanta Nord were halted Saturday night over windstorms.
