Steaua striker Valentin Badea opened score from close range after receiving a pass from midfielder Nicolae Dica in the 12th minute, and Adrian Neaga had had a goal annulled for offside in the 8th.

The Romanian team had kept the game in check for a long time, when Slavia brought the score to a draw in the 78th minute, with Zdenek Senkerik striking with a header and qualifying the Czechs for UEFA Cup.

Slavia, who have five points with a game to play, will finish third in Group H of Champions League while Steaua only picked up their first point in this season’s competition.
