If one-day road toll prices are not approved, the European Commission could open infringement proceedings on Romania for failing to align its laws to the European Directive regulating tolls for heavy weight freight transport vehicles.

The price of the 24-hour road toll will vary between EUR4 and EUR11, depending on the vehicle mass.

Fines applied for the lack of paid road tolls vary between 500 lei (EUR1-RON3.5078) and RON9,000.
