In a common press statement, USR Chairman Dan Barna, PMP Chairman Eugen Tomac and PNL Lower Chamber group leader Raluca Turcan announced that the motion was ready and gathered 163 signatures from MPs, but will be filed on Friday so that its debate will span almost the entirety of next week.

“This no-confidence motion must be debated and we must have space to debate it socially, to not have it buried by a scheme of PSD, and from this perspective we will file the motion on Friday, so that the first reading will be on Monday and the vote will be on Thursday,” said the USR chairman.

The opposition would need 70 votes from the two combined chambers in addition to those gathered in support of the motion by signature to reach the 233 threshold necessary to dismiss the government.

A previous no-confidence motion against the Viorica Dancila Government, in June, failed to gain the necessary parliamentary support.
