Romania’s Sovereign Investment Fund to Have RON19.11B Share Capital

Romania's Sovereign Fund for Development and Investments (FSDI) will have a share capital of RON19.11 billion, according to a draft government decision published Friday.

Of the proposed share capital RON9 billion would be cash contributions and RON10.11 billion is face value of shares owned by the Romanian state in the companies part of the fund.

The fund’s initial share capital is divided into 1.47 billion nominative shares with a face value of RON13/share.

The Sovereign Fund’s portfolio includes controlling or minority stakes in 28 state companies in the pharmaceutical, transport and energy fields, such as electricity providers Electrica and Nuclearelectrica, natural gas producer Romgaz, oil and gas company OMV Petrom, and pharmaceutical company Unifarm SA.
