Orban: A Parliament dominated by retrograde forces decided to dismiss the Cabinet. I lost one battle

„A parliament dominated by retrograde forces, as we called them parliamentarians born out of Dragnea’s pen, who trampled on Romania’s democracy and interests, today decided, through a no-confidence motion, the fall of the Government I led. As I had said before the motion, the Government is falling on its feet”, Ludovic Orban has said in Parliament.

He has added that he lost „just one battle” and that he is proud of what his Cabinet had achieved in three months.

„We are proud of what we have done in three months, of the fact that in an extremely short period we managed to repair a part of PSD damage, that we resettled Romania among the European nations, on an equal footing, that we restored Romania’s credibility in front of European and strategic partners. We managed in an extremely short time to make impactful decisions. I recall the elimination of the fuel surcharge, the repeal of the compensatory appeal, the budgetary rectification that saved Romania’s budget and allowed the budget year to be concluded”, emphasized Orban.

The government was dismissed on Wednesday through a no-confidence motion. There were 261 „for” votes, with only 233 needed.
