Klaus Iohannis: I am nominating Ludovic Orban for the position of prime minister

„I have promises from all political parties that they will get involved in Parliament to pass all parliamentary procedures very quickly. We may already have tomorrow (Saturday) the vote on the Orban Government, a vote that will be given under special conditions, but I am fully confident that Parliament has all the data and possibilities to go through this procedure. I expect all the responsible politicians to be part of this joint effort, so that we can concentrate 100% on combating the effects of coronavirus infection”, the president stated.

According to the president, all parties proposed the Executive be led by Ludovic Orban.

„Everyone has understood that we are in a special situation, it is not a place of political outbursts, but of very urgent solutions. I received only one proposal for prime minister, Ludovic Orbam, whom I appoint. I expect all parties, all politicians to be part of this effort to end this political crisis, so we can concentrate 100% on combating the epidemic. We currently have a government in operation, the government Ludovic Orban, who worked very seriously and very well, whether he worked with full or interim powers. The results can be seen, we have relatively few cases of coronavirus infection in Romania”, Klaus Iohannis added.

Currently, Ludovic Orban is isolated at Vila Lac 1, after having contacted Vergil Chiţac, a liberal lawmaker confirmed with coronavirus.
