The two Romanian officials are to leave Moldova within 24 hours.

Romanian President Traian Basescu said the decision is “touches a challenging area,” but the country will continue supporting the Romanians in the Republic of Moldova.

In his turn, Premier Calin Popescu Tariceanu said he requested the foreign ministry to analyze the situation and decide upon proper measures.

The two Romanian diplomats declared personae non-gratae, are Prime Secretary Laurentiu Pintea and cultural adviser Vasile Nanea, diplomatic sources told MEDIAFAX Wednesday.
