Two Romanian women were found on Saturday with their throats slit in a hotel in Rome near the Italian capital’s main railway station, police said.
The authorities identified the two victims as Bulal Alina Clara (age 21) and Urda Ionica (age 20), Italian daily La Repubblica reported.
Police arrested Marian Negoita, the boyfriend of Bulal Alina Clara, and found traces of blood on his razor.
Negoita confessed during interrogation, saying he killed the women because his girlfriend wanted to leave him: “My girlfriend was cheating on me, she wanted to dump me, and her friend was helping her.”
The chief of the carabinieri division in Rome, Fernando Nazzaro, told reporters Negoita’s interrogation was difficult, as the suspect “was on drugs, probably cocaine, and he was crying, at times mumbling, and he could not remember the exact time when he committed the murders.”
