To register a food or agricultural product as traditional specialty guaranteed (TSG), a group of producers (any organization, regardless of its legal status or structure – e.n.) must prove that the respective food product has specific features that differentiate it from the other products included in the same category.
Moreover, the group must prove that the respective product is obtained by means of a traditional manufacturing process or from traditional raw material passed down from one generation to another.
The registration request must also include a task book that provides details on the manufacturing process and, if necessary, the raw material used in the process.
