Ciolacu emphasized that, unlike in previous tense political moments, the parties involved in the coalition were able to work together.
„As Marcel Vela said, along with Ilie Bolojan, Kelemen Hunor, and Mr. Pambuccian, we managed to form a coalition after an election campaign, and we achieved a unique performance. This time, we all kept our word. If you want, I’ll tell you why we succeeded: because we didn’t have Victor Ponta or Klaus Iohannis this time,” Ciolacu said, referring to past political experiences.
The Prime Minister also called for an end to the internal attacks within the political scene, urging responsibility in the face of the current moment.
„Until now, we were always fighting and it felt like we lost our minds. For three months, all we knew how to do was insult each other, despite three years of collaboration in which we managed to overcome Romania’s toughest economic, social, and security crises. Now, we’re sitting here with our heads down just because we’re no longer cursing each other? Let’s face our destiny, which is in our hands now. Stop listening to those who lost the elections. Give us the moment to feel like we’ve done the right thing, that we’ve overcome any arrogance. It’s time to wake up!” Ciolacu concluded.
