“ The Tariceanu government will decide on the date to organize the elections after consulting with the other political parties (in the country).  In what we are concerned (the Liberal Party) , we feel local elections are extremely important and we do not think it is proper nor legal to organize parliament elections in the same time,” the official said.

Orban said that such an option is not possible from the technical point of view.

On Friday , Prime Minister Tariceanu said that enacting the uninominal voting system might lead, in certain conditions, to postponing elections and organizing both local and parliament elections simultaneously.

He added that the date for local elections might be set next week.
