Romanian Jan Industrial Output +6.1% On Year

Romania's industrial output grew 6.1% on the year in January led by manufacturing and energy growth, the National Statistics Institute, or INS, said Friday.

The INS said output in the energy and manufacturing sectors grew 10% and 7.1% on the year in January, respectively. Output in the mining sector fell 6.3% in the same period.

In January alone, the country’s industrial output grew 1.6% on the month on growth in the energy and manufacturing sectors.

On the month, output in the energy and manufacturing sectors rose 5.1% and 2.4%, respectively, while output in the mining sector fell 8.5%, the INS said.

Industrial output data for January are preliminary, the INS said.
