He added such changes should be made as soon as possible.

"Unfortunately, we have a constitutional system that needs an urgent makeover. What other democracy in the world has ever had a situation such as hours when Parliament, which is empowered by the people, decides the president must be suspended? When the prime minister backs the parliament and says the president should be impeached and dismissed?" Boc said.

“We ask the people, the supreme umpire, and we tell the parliament: you were wrong. The government lives on whistling, imposes taxes on cars and holds on to them despite the people’s will, the parliament continues to defy Romanians, as if nothing happened. In any democracy, losers go home! We need to clear the issue of the relations between the president and prime minister. We need to stipulate clearly who decides in Romania: one who is appointed, or one who is elected?” Boc added.

The democrat liberal added the parliament also needs a makeover, and have its two chambers rolled into one, as their attributions are largely the same.
