NATO and the United States of America will provide the military air equipment and infrastructure necessary for aerial police missions in Romanian airspace throughout the NATO summit held in Bucharest.
Forces brought in include American F-15 C/E Strike Eagles fighter jets, from the 48th Fighter Wing (48 FW) – part of the American air forces based out of Lakenheath, UK.
Other planes include F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 31st Fighter Wing, stationed in the Aviano airbase in Italy.
Air refueling KC-135EStratotanker tanker aircraft, from the 100th Aerial refueling wing, come from the British Air Force base in Mildenhall, England.
