Romanian Fin Ministry Legal Adviser Caught Taking Bribe

A legal adviser with the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finance was caught red-handed receiving RON5,000 from a man who was going to be evicted from his home, Bucharest police spokesman Christian Ciocan told MEDIAFAX Tuesday.

"The Finance Ministry employee – Andrei Anghel, 41 – asked RON20,000 to help the man get compensations, as he was going to be evicted from his home. The General Intelligence Department and the Fraud Investigation Service with the Bucharest police caught the legal adviser red-handed while he was receiving RON5,000 from his denouncer," Ciocan said.
 
He added Anghel has been detained for 24 hours and the warrant expires Wednesday around noon.
