In the Fagaras Mountains, there is a high risk of avalanche, the warning coming in code red, of the fourth degree on a scale of one to five, because of the warming weather and rain.

The snow layer is some 50 centimeters thick, it has low resistance and is set on a layer of ice, which makes it unstable on most slopes, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Environment and Durable Development (MMDD).

In the Bucegi mountains, at altitudes of over 1,800 meters, the risk of avalanche is high, the warning being in code orange, of the third degree.
