For a net average monthly income per family member of up to RON800, the state will cover half the expenses.
The income is calculated for the two months previous to the application, according to a recently approved government emergency ordinance regulating the granting of public legal aid in civil cases.
Public legal aid is a type of assistance granted by the state to ensure citizens’ rights to a fair trial and guarantee equal access to justice, including cases of foreclosure and other executory deeds. This type of assistance is not granted in criminal cases.
Public aid may be requested by anyone who cannot afford to pay legal fees without jeopardizing daily living costs for one’s family.
