The deadline for the adoption of the two drafts expired last week.

The drafts amend Law no.373 of 2004 regarding the election of members of parliament and Law no.67 of 2004 regarding the election of local public administration authorities. Both drafts were initiated by democrat liberal deputy Bogdan Cantaragiu.

The two drafts stipulate the same conditions to be imposed on electoral office members for both local and general elections.

According to the drafts, members of electoral offices must have medical certificates attesting they are psychologically and physically apt for their activity in the polling station on election day.

The drafts also stipulate that political parties should consider designating electoral office members from among people who have the approval of their family physician.
