Romania Gets Code Orange Warning For Floods

Romania’s Environment Ministry Wednesday sent out orange code warning to 18 prefect offices countrywide and yellow code warning to 24 prefect offices for floods expected Wednesday through Saturday.

The orange code warning targets counties Maramures, Satu Mare, Bistrita – Nasaud, Bihor, Arad, Hunedoara, Timis, Caras – Severin, Mehedinti, Dolj, Mures, Valcea, Sibiu, Harghita, Prahova, Bacau, Neamt and Suceava.
 
The yellow code warning targets counties Maramures, Cluj, Salaj, Satu Mare, Bihor, Timis, Caras Severin, Gorj, Dolj, Olt, Valcea, Mures, Alba, Hunedoara, Arges, Dambovita, Prahova, Ilfov, Ialomita, Buzau, Bacau, Neamt, Suceava and Botosani.  
 
The country’s meteorology authority also sent out orange code warning Wednesday to prefect offices in 26 counties countrywide for heavy rains, of nearly 90 liters/square meter, expected Wednesday through Thursday.
 
The authority Tuesday sent out yellow code warning for heavy rains, strong wind and even hailstorms, which stays valid for the counties not targeted by orange code warning.
 
The orange code warning for heavy rains targets counties Suceava, Neamt, Bacau, Vrancea, Buzau, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Valcea, Gorj, Mehedinti, Caras-Severin, Timis, Hunedoara, Alba, Bihor, Salaj, Satu Mare, Maramures, Cluj, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita, Covasna, Brasov and Sibiu.
