Thus, of the 40,000 old cars the authorities plan to scrap via the "Rabla" program, a total 25,592 will come from the aforementioned carmakers and importers, as each will supply a total 3,199 cars.
Other car brands included in the program are Skoda (2,879 units), Peugeot (2,529 units), Volkswagen (2,159 units), Ford (2,010 units), Toyota (1,999 units), Kia (1,045 units), Seat (840 units), Mitsubishi (432 units), Citroen (325 units), Mazda (199 units), Honda (40 units), Subaru (17 units), Audi (eight units) and Lada (six units).
Thus, 22 carmakers and importers were validated via more than 140 sale units nationwide and the total sum assigned for this program totals RON120 million, with the scrapping bonus reaching RON3,000 per car.
The scrapping bonus will be transferred from the budget of the Environment Fund Administration directly to the company from which the buyer will purchase the new car.
This year, the "Rabla" program will be conducted in two stages, as follows: the first stage- until September 25, the second stage- from October 1 until December 12, 2008.
