The nine lion cubs, another lion taken from Brasov and one tiger from Hunedoara will live in the African reservation under limited freedom conditions. The action is the largest of its kind unfolded on Romanian soil.
Braila zoo management decided to give up on the nine lion cubs since there is not enough room for the 14 lions it held.
The foundation for animal protection Vier Pfoten offered to transport the felines to South Africa, where it holds the natural reservation "Lionsrock," with a surface of 1,200 hectares.
