Romanian Local Elections Turnout At 10 AM – 7.02%

The voting turnout in the second round of Romanian local elections, on a national level, was 7.02% Sunday at 10:00 local time, said the spokesperson for the Central Electoral Office, Marian Muhulet.

According to the quoted source, in urban areas, the turnout was 5.22% at 10:00, while in the rural areas 9.96% of voters had exercised their right.

The Central Electoral Office informed that in 22 counties the turnout was superior to the national average.

The highest turnout was registered in the counties: Ilfov – 16.14%, Dolj – 13.59%, Teleorman – 12.77%, Buzau – 12.46% and Ialomita – 12.34%.

The lowest turnouts were registered in counties: Hunedoara – 4.42%, Bistrita-Nasaud – 4.49% Satu Mare – 4.74%, Alba – 5.07%, Prahova – 5.20%.

The information was compiled based on data from 1,323 voting sections, on a national level, the margin of error being +/- 3%.
