Romanian Local Elections Turnout At 14:00 Local Time – 23.23%

The voting turnout in the second round of Romanian local elections, on a national level, was 23.23 % Sunday at 14:00 local time, said the spokesperson for the Central Electoral Office, Marian Muhulet.

According to the quoted source, in urban areas the 14:00 turnout was 18.44%, while in rural areas the turnout was 31%.
In the first round of elections, the voting turnout at 14:00 was 23.26%.
The highest turnout was registered in Ilfov county – 39.24%, followed by Gorj county – 39.09%, Dolj – 36.10%, Valcea -33.52% and Giurgiu -33.41%.
BEC informed that in 26 counties the turnout was higher than the national average.
The information was compiled based on data from 1,323 voting sections, on a national level, the margin of error being +/- 3%.
