Romanian Govt To Suspend Subsidized Loans For The Disabled – Sources

The Romanian government will suspend during the second budget revision in 2008 the subsidized loans for people with disabilities, after the authorities recently limited the loan value to EUR10,000, government sources said Tuesday.

They said the government will also suspend operations to contract new loans from authorized institutions provisioned under article 99 of Law 448/2006 protecting and promoting the rights of people with disabilities.

The measures are included in the budget revision due for debates in the government this Wednesday, the mentioned sources said.

End June, the Romanian Executive decided to limit the value of loans with state-subsidized interest that can be contracted by people with disabilities to EUR10,000, after people used the credits to buy luxury cars, motorboats or yachts.
