The sum will be divided between the local councils in southern Romania, thus the beaches in Constanta will receive RON650,000, Mangalia RON1.5 million, Eforie RON600,000, Navodari RON300,000 lei, Costinesti RON300,000 and Limanu RON350,000.

Lifeguards on the Romanian sea-shore went on a go-low strike Tuesday, discontent that they had not received their money for salaries from the government.

The only Romanian sea-side resort unaffected by protests was Mamaia, where local authorities funded lifeguard services and are to recover the money from the government.
