The president said in the campaign broadcasted by television station Realitatea TV that the lady would receive by the end of the week the materials to rebuild her home, which was destroyed in the recent floods.
He added that the materials necessary for reconstruction would be bought with the money left in the bank account destined for the 2007 referendum on the introduction of the uninominal voting system and with donations amounting to 30,000 lei (EUR1=RON3.5010). The president said he would donate one month’s salary.
The president promised the old lady in a village in Bacau county that she would receive the materials by the end of the week.
He requested the community’s solidarity in the reconstruction of the villages affected by floods.
The president on Monday visited Saucesti in Bacau county, and Doljesti and Tamaseni in Neamt county, eastern Romania, where he assured locals that the Government would send construction materials in two-three weeks.
