Heatwave To Affect 15 Romanian Counties, Bucharest

Romanian authorities issued yellow code warning for heat for 15 counties in the eastern, western and northern part of the country, as well as for the capital city Bucharest, expecting temperatures up to 37-38 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures in the counties of Arad, Bihor, Braila, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Ialomita, Ilfov, Mehedinti, Olt, Teleorman, Timis, Vaslui, and in Bucharest will rise up to 37-38 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius will be reported only in some areas in the southern part of the counties Arges, Buzau, Dambovita, Gorj, Prahova, Valcea and Vrancea, and in the western part of Constanta and Tulcea counties.

The warning is valid as of Thursday 2 p.m. until Friday 8 p.m. For most of the localities, the temperature-humidity comfort index will exceed the critical level.
