Under the pretext of offering them a job, a false employer, allegedly working for a brokerage firm in the city of Brasov, central Romania, requested the applicants sensitive information, such as original documents and personal data, as well as non-existent taxes, ARBC said in a statement.
The brokers recommended people not to provide such sensitive data unless they are certain about the legitimacy of the employing company, and advised that they should not consider unrealistic propositions.
Founded in June this year, the Romanian Association of Credit Brokers includes eight brokerage firms: Kiwi Finance, DBSol Consulting, Perfect Finance, Finzoom Financial Services, Rapid Finance Consult, International Brokers, Easy Credit Invest and Creditlink.
