Democrat liberal Berceanu said liberal Tariceanu is to blame for the lousy stage of works on the Baneasa underground passageway, the Bucharest ring road, the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway and the Ploiesti Vest ring road, as he failed to assign the money needed to complete the works.

Berceanu qualified the above-mentioned objectives as Tariceanu’s personal failure, adding at least part of the construction works should have been completed by now.

Tariceanu will check Tuesday the stage of traffic decongestion works on the four infrastructure objectives.

Expansion works of the Bucharest ring road to four lanes entail costs of 253 million lei (EUR1-RON3.5295) and will be executed on three road sections, until 2009, with funds from the state budget.

The country’s roads and highway company will assign RON605 million from the state budget this year to expand the southern area of Bucharest ring road to four lanes.
