Romania To Launch Hepatitis Prevention Program In 2009 – Health Min

Romania’s Health Ministry will allocate funds to set up a program on hepatitis prevention in 2009, after having decided to start vaccination on fourth-grade girls against uterine cancer as of mid-October, Minister Eugen Nicolaescu said Tuesday.

“The national healthcare evaluation program helped us get correct information. These are concrete results, which allow us to start the prevention programs we announced. As of the middle of October, we will start vaccination on fourth grade girls, to prevent uterine cancer (…),” Nicolaescu said.

He added the ministry’s budget for 2009 will include funds for a program aimed at preventing hepatitis. He also mentioned the need of a more ample program on healthy lifestyle.
