Romania’s Bucharest Stock Exchange suspended trading on Monday, at GMT0838, for half an hour, on a steep decline of the main shares.

"The transactions were suspended for half an hour as the BET index decreased 13%, if taking into account the rate of Banca Transilvania. The measure is similar with Friday’s and after resuming the transactions, the variation limit will be of 15%," Bucharest Stock Exchange president Stere Farmache said.

The Stock Exchange management also suspended trading for an hour on Friday, on most of the shares plummeting over 12%.
